Abeokuta Ourtburst: Tinubu, 3 APC Govs go to ‘pacify’ Buhari in Daura

Three governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accompanied Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina state.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that President Buhari is in the state for a two-day working trip. Katsina is also the president’s home state.

Tinubu’s visit comes in the wake of his outburst during the ruling party’s presidential rally in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital, on Wednesday.

The APC presidential flag-bearer had said the Naira redesign and lingering petrol scarcity were designed to scuttle his chances in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

Similarly, in Benue State this week, Tinubu blamed the fuel scarcity on the PDP.

The APC governors who accompanied Tinubu for the “face-saving” visit to Buhari on Thursday night are the host, Aminu Masari, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi, and Babagana Zulum of Borno.

It is not the first time that Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, will make controversial a statement against President Buhari and the current administration.

Last year, prior to the APC presidential primary election, the 70-year-old insinuated that he ‘made’ Buhari president in 2015. He also laid claim to the presidency, saying ‘Emilokan’, which means “it’s my turn”. The controversial moment also happened in Abeokuta.

  1. Buhari is definitely not an sellable face in Nigeria of today.
The endless list of complaints from all Nigerian irrespective of tribes is a negative warning in the current political climate.
Nigerian don’t like buhari again, His government is assessed a let down, ranging from poor economic politics, not enough infrastructural realty, Failed security policies etc
I think the pcc of Apc has done the proper thing to have bearly managed his unpopular posture well enough.
I guess they have done well limiting his campaign participation to on the book.
And about Asiwaju’s outburst in Abeokuta, this is to proof that buhari is not in control of his government and that he Asiwaju has no hand in all the misfortunes confronting Nigerian.
    My view:
Nigerians are the ones going through the hard time so, everyone should look beyond media rhetoric and unsubstantiated lies from our bought over media outlets.
So everyone should take a good assessment of all this contestants, there style of government, there understanding of our peculiar situation and lastly there visible past achievement in government so as to make a vote decision that you will not regret later.
Remmember 4years is too long to leave complaing.
We all put a buhari and today many of those who voted buhari are living in poverty.
Shine your eyes, we need a government not a puppet president or sectional president, but a true president of nigeria without an aota of ethnic bias.
Only in that we can have peace in Nigeria.
    God bless nigeria.
