Governor Alex Otti, who was recently sworn in as the Governor of Abia State, has dissolved all 17 local government transition committees across the state.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the announcement was made by Ferdinand Ekeoma, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
As a result of this decision, the chairmen and deputy chairmen of the dissolved committees are required to facilitate a smooth transition of power by handing over their responsibilities to the head of personnel management in their respective local governments.
In addition to the dissolution of the transition committees, Governor Otti has also removed the education secretaries of all 17 local government areas.
According to the official release, each affected education secretary must pass on their duties to the most senior director in their respective areas.
“These directives take immediate effect; therefore, the affected persons should comply and ensure seamless transfer of power in the local government areas,” the statement read.
