AFCON: Abidjan-based businessman sponsors free buses for Nigerian journalists to Bouake

Nigerian businessman Sangare Ibrahim, based in Ivory Coast, has sponsored two free buses to transport Nigerian journalists from Abidjan to Bouake for the semi-final clash against South Africa.

The goodwill of the businessman alleviated the financial burden on journalists, who would have typically incurred expenses ranging from 30,000 to 35,000 naira for the journey.

Osasu Obayiuwana, ex-BBC sports journalist, wrote on X:

”This man, Ibrahim Sangare, donated two buses to take nearly 100 Nigerian journalists to Bouake for the #TotalEnergiesAFCON2023 semi-final. #Nigeria, kindly appreciate him.”

Another Nigerian journalist, Christopher Maduewesi, wrote:

”En route Bouake with Team Naija journalists to cover the Super Eagles against South Africa this evening.

”Special shoutout to Sangare Ibrahim, a Nigerian businessman based in Ivory Coast; he provided two free buses to convey Journos to Bouake.

”Let’s win this Amapiano derby.”
