AFCON: Chippa United places €2 million price tag on Nigerian goalkeeper, Nwabali

South African football club Chippa United has set a €2 million asking price for their Nigerian goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, according to reports.

Nwabali has gained recognition for his outstanding performances at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper has been a standout performer for the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, during the AFCON tournament.

With three clean sheets in four appearances, Nwabali has garnered attention for his impressive shot-stopping abilities.

According to the Daily Post, Union St Gilloise, a Belgian Pro League team, is reportedly at the forefront of the race to secure Nwabali’s services.

However, his availability for the AFCON quarter-final clash against Angola on Friday is uncertain due to a knee injury sustained during the Super Eagles’ Round of 16 victory against Cameroon.
