AFCON final: CAF announces match officials for Nigeria vs Ivory Coast

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the match officials for Sunday’s highly anticipated 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final. Referee Dahane Beida from Mauritania will be the man in the middle for the pivotal match.

Jerson Emiliano Dos Santos of Angola has been appointed the first assistant referee, while Diana Chikotesha will serve as the second assistant referee. The fourth official for the match will be Bouchra Karboubi from Morocco.

The final, set to kick off at 9 pm West Africa Time, will be held at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan, promising a thrilling conclusion to the prestigious tournament.

This announcement comes ahead of a historic clash between two formidable teams competing for the coveted title.

Nigeria last reached the Africa Cup of Nations final in 1988 without lifting it, where they faced Cameroon. Unfortunately, they suffered a 1-0 defeat, with controversy surrounding a disallowed goal.

Referee Idrissa Sarr from Mauritania ruled out a Henry Nwosu header for offside, leaving an indelible mark on the memories of football fans.
