The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, returned to Port Harcourt on Friday evening after a two-week visit to Germany.
Governor Fubara’s flight touched down at the international wing of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, at approximately 7:00 pm, where he was quietly received by a small group of aides.
The governor was immediately escorted into a waiting Sports Utility Vehicle, which departed the airport without delay.
Although his official destination was Germany, sources close to the matter disclosed that Governor Fubara also held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu in London during the trip.
It can be recalled that President Tinubu in March suspended Fubara, his deputy Prof. Ngozi Odu, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, alongside the controversial declaration of a state of emergency in the state.
