The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) has again moved the state’s local government election to January 18, 2025.
This was disclosed by the ODIEC Chairman, Joseph Aremo at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Akure.
Recall that the LG election earlier conducted on December 16, 2023, was
postponed to February 17, and later to July 13.
It was finally postponed indefinitely before the announcement of this new date.
Aremo also urged political parties to conclude the validation of their candidate between November 25 and December 7.
According to him, campaigns by political parties will kick off on December 23 and end by midnight of January 16, 2025.
