Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has fired Allen Sowore, the Media Aide to the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.
The governor made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday in Akure by his Chief Press Secretary, Olusegun Ajiboye.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that the governor sacked Sowore for recording and circulating the viral video showing the state Police Commissioner, Bolaji Salami, stopping Ajayi from leaving the Government House.
It was also learned that Sowore was said to have also made comments in support of the deputy governor’s action a radio station in Akure on Monday.
According to the statement, the sacking of Sowore takes immediate effect, urging him to submit all government’s properties in his possession to the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
The statement read, “The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has relieved Mr Allen Sowore of his appointment with immediate effect.
“Until his sack, Mr Sowore was a Special Assistant to the governor on New Media.
“Mr Sowore is advised to submit all government’s properties in his possession to the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
“The Governor wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavour.”
