As the 2023 election draws near, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has promised that he will not be leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for any other party.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Wike who stressed that he remains a committed member of the PDP spoke on Friday at the Port Harcourt International Airport in the Rivers State capital shortly after he returned from a foreign trip.
There had been controversy about his allegiance following his defeat to Atiku Abubakar in the presidential primary election of the PDP in May.
“People call me and beg me not to leave the PDP. Who is talking about issue of leaving party?”Wike said.
“Atiku Abubakar came to my house to say I should support him, so he doesn’t know my house again? Those I don’t even know are calling my phone, trivialising issues. No way. I would not accept that.
“So Atiku Abubakar cannot say he has sent one person to see me.”
