All public and private schools including tertiary institutions have been shut down in Plateau over the Coronavirus menace.
The closure was announced by the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Danladi Atu. In his statement, he said the closure takes effect from Saturday, 21st March 2020.
“The measures became necessary because the state government wanted to prevent any outbreak of the disease in the state. He advised citizens of the state to take personal hygiene seriously and adhere to all the guidelines issued by medical experts”, his statement read.
Earlier today, POLITICS NIGERIA reported how Lagos, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, Kaduna, Kogi and many other states of the federation banned all public gatherings for containing the disease.
Three international airports have also been closed by the government.
