Alleged Missing N32billion: ‘Sins’ of APC’s Abdullahi Adamu Revealed

All Progressives Congress (APC) insiders are pointing to the alleged missing N32 billion as being one of the big sins of Abdullahi Adamu, which executive members are using against him.

According to TheCable, an unnamed National Working Committee (NWC) member of the APC believes that the “final straw” was Adamu’s failure to account for the N32 billion raised by the party from the sale of forms for the 2023 general elections.

The chieftain said: “Only N7 billion is left in the account as we speak. Adamu and Omisore claimed the account has been audited, but we are not aware of when the auditors were appointed.

“How can NWC not be aware of the appointment? It is part of our responsibilities to appoint auditors.”

Adamu, who had gotten feelers that he would be ousted, was said to have sought the support of the chairpersons of the state chapters of the party but did not get a positive or convincing report.

Another APC chieftain stated: “By the APC constitution, the proceeds were supposed to be shared with the zonal, state, and ward levels of the party, and they were not in the know. So there was no way they were going to support him.”

Recall also that while President Bola Tinubu supported Tanko Al Makura, a former governor of Nasarawa state, for the position of national chairman, party leaders loyal to Muhammadu Buhari backed Adamu.

Also, before the APC’s presidential primary in June 2022, Tinubu lamented that he was being betrayed even though an agreement was sealed in 2015 for him to succeed Buhari.

Tinubu’s famous slogan, “Emi l’okan” (“it’s my turn”), is said to have enraged Adamu, who threatened that the party would “discipline” him.

Even more, close to the primary, Adamu informed NWC members that former Senate President Ahmad Lawan was Buhari’s preferred candidate.
