The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2021 Anambra State governorship election, Valentine Ozigbo has visited PU 03, Isulo Primary School, Isulo Ward, Orumba South Local Government Area.
There around 5PM, Ozigbo told the Presiding Officers (PO) and Assistant Presiding Officer (APO) from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to leave the centre unless they upload the results on the portal.
POLITICS NIGERIA understands that voting didn’t start at the centre until 1:00pm. Other ad-hoc staff in the ward have left them behind.
Ozigbo had won in his polling unit. He garnered 75 votes with his closest rival, Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), recording 8 votes.
Ozigbo voted around 11:35 a.m. with his wife at polling unit 010 Social Center, Ward 005, of Aguata Local Government.
Voting ended at the polling unit around 3:33 p.m. there and counting commenced immediately.
Speaking after voting, Ozigbo said he was disappointed by the ineffectiveness of the Biomodal Voters Authentication System (BVAS). He, however, praised INEC for introducing the machine into the election process.
