Umar Ardo, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the 2023 Adamawa State governorship election, has withdrawn his appeal against the re-election of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri at the Supreme Court.
Ardo, who had contested the results of the March 18 polls citing irregularities and malpractices, initially filed a petition at the State Governorship Election Tribunal. However, after the tribunal dismissed his claims in October, he promptly approached the Court of Appeal in Abuja, where the ruling also went against him in November.
