A governorship aspirant for the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming November 2025 election in Anambra State, Valentine Ozigbo has said that he is the only politician with the capacity to defeat Governor Charles Soludo.
Speaking during a chat with Rudolf Okonkwo, Ozigbo said real politicians in Anambra State are aware of his capacity at the polls.
A former member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ozigbo contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election, where he finished second behind Governor Soludo who contested under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
However, in preparation for the 2023 general election, Ozigbo joined the Labour party to totally support the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Speaking on the governorship election ahead, Ozigbo said, “Real politicians in the Anambra state know that I am the only one with the capacity to defeat Governor Soludo.
“I’ve never done anything in politics until 2021 when I contested the governorship election against Soludo, who was funded by the then incumbent governor, and Andy Uba, who had federal support as the APC candidate,” Ozigbo said.
He also stated that at the last governorship election in Anambra, he showed his commitment and is an evidence that he puts in his best foot for his people.
“I also showed purpose in 2023. Without any prompting, I followed and supported Peter Obi. When Soludo was criticizing and throwing stones at his presidential ambition, I was supporting him actively,” he said.
