Anambra guber: INEC lists Moghalu as Labour Party’s candidate

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has listed George Moghalu as the Labour Party’s candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State.

With the election scheduled to take place in November, Moghalu will be slugging it out with the incumbent governor of the state, Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress among other candidates.

In a statement issued on Monday, the leadership of the Labour Party said this move by INEC reaffirms the electoral body’s recognition of Julius Abure as the party’s national chairman.

According to the Labour Party, INEC has just endorsed the leadership and legitimacy of Abure’s position as the chairman of the party.

The party said, “INEC has officially published the name of Chief Dr George Moghalu as the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming Anambra State election.

“This development has reaffirmed the Labour Party under Barr Julius Abure’s leadership as the officially recognized party by INEC, endorsing its leadership and legitimacy,” the statement said.

The party further congratulated Moghalu on this feat while stating that it is expected that his leadership pushes the state and the party to new heights.
