Anambra youths issue warning to politicians over attacks against Peter Obi

Politicians across the country have been warned against making derogatory remarks against the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

The warning was issued to the politicians by the youths of Agulu community in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State on Wednesday.

The youths in a statement jointly signed by their Chairman, Maduagwu Eric-Kenny, and Secretary, Chamberlain Egoh, in Awka described the constant attacks on Obi as desperate actions by politicians seeking votes.

They alleged that some politicians who visit Agulu, Obi’s hometown in search of the people’s support, now resort to verbally attacking the former Anambra governor.

According to the youths, these politicians go as far as mocking Obi with the sole aim of tarnishing his image.

“Peter Obi’s name commands respect not only in Nigerian politics but also on the global stage. We will never allow anyone, regardless of position or influence, to diminish his image.

“We therefore issue this unequivocal caution: any politician visiting Agulu for any purpose must refrain from making derogatory or disparaging remarks about our dear brother, Peter Obi,” the youths said.

Warning that just like other people in various communities across the country protect their own politicians, they would stop at nothing to preserve the image Obi has built for himself, Agulu people, Ndi Anambra and Nigerians both at home and abroad.
