The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Mr Emmanuel Jakada, on Sunday expressed shock over the death of former Deputy Governor of the state, Barnabas Bantex.
Jakada in an interview with Journalists in Kaduna, described the demise of the former deputy governor as a great loss to the party and people of the state.
He said the death of Bala-Bantex was a great loss to the people of Southern Kaduna in particular.
“Bantex was a great and patient man. He was our former party Chairman and we shall ever remain greatful to him for his performance as a leader, father and fellow political associate,” Jakada said.
The APC chairman prayed God to grant the family, the state and Kaura Local Government the fortitude to bear the loss. Bantex who died at the age of 64 was the deputy to Gov. Nasir El-rufa’i between 2015 and 2019.
He resigned and contested for Kaduna South Senatorial seat in the 2019 general election on the platform of the APC. He, however, lost to the incumbent, Sen. Danjuma La’ah of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
