APC Chairman Speaks on Delay in Tinubu’s Ministerial List

National chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, has addressed party chieftains who are nursing high ambitions of being appointed as ministers by President Bola Tinubu.

Similarly, Adamu used the opportunity to explain to Nigerians about the delay in announcing the President’s ministers and heads of ministries, departments and agencies, maintaining revealing Tinubu was carrying out an extensive consultation before making an official announcement.

The APC chairman made these known at the meeting of the National Working Committee and APC state chairmen at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja on Monday, July 10.

The meeting was attended by a delegation of 32 members of the Forum of APC chairmen, including their leader, Ali Dalori, and acting secretary, Alphonsus Ogah.

Addressing the party chieftains, Adamu said it is normal for every APC member to be hopeful about getting some patronage but all of them cannot be ministers in the government, or become board members, directors of parastatals and MDAs in the country.

Adamu also noted that the rigorous comprehensive exercise of selecting major cabinet members will happen in the next two months and not in one week.

He, however, expressed optimism that Tinubu would consider party loyalists at both state and national levels for appointments.
