APC chieftain: Tinubu will retain power in 2027

Alhaji Abdulaziz Maituraka, Special Adviser to the Deputy Senate President, has expressed confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will retain power at both the national and state levels in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a gathering with the newly elected Katsina council chairman and councillors at his residence on Sunday, Maituraka stated that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu would secure a second term in office, while Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, would also be re-elected.

“God willing, APC will form the next government in the country. Ahmed Bola Tinubu will be re-elected, so will Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State,” Maituraka declared.

“I am not saying this is something that must happen; I am only saying this because of the good things the party is doing and as a prayer for God to make it happen,” he added.

The APC stalwart dismissed concerns about political defections, asserting that those leaving the party to contest against the APC would struggle to gain traction.

His words: “The defection of such politicians does not trouble the APC. Instead, it shows that they have moved to uncertain ground.

“Some of these politicians want to ride a horse without a saddle or riding gear, and the back of the horse is very slippery.”

Maituraka urged the elected council chairman and councillors to work hard in promoting the APC and ensuring the party’s continued success.

He emphasized that their primary responsibility should be to serve the interests of the electorate who voted them into office.

On his part, the executive chairman of Katsina council, Isah Miqdad, commended Maituraka for hosting them for the Sallah festivities.

Miqdad assured that he and his colleagues would diligently fulfill their responsibilities, keeping in mind both the interests of the electorate and the ruling party.
