Some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Plateau State reportedly held a closed-door meeting in Abuja on Thursday night to perfect plans to woo Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the state to decamp from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Daily Trust reports that the meeting was held with the North Central APC Forum, which recently called on the governor to dump the PDP for the APC so that his good works, intentions, and values can be achievable and tenable.
Speaking during their recent advice to the governor to defect to the APC, the forum’s chairman, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, told journalists that Mutfwang’s decamping to the APC was vital for the development of Plateau State.
According to Zazzaga, the governor will be on the same page with President Bola Tinubu, the other North Central APC governors and other state and federal legislators to pursue developmental causes if he defects.
Also, Zazzaga noted that some of the APC chieftains at the meeting include the Plateau APC governorship aspirant in the last election, who is also the chairman/convener of the Forum of APC Governorship aspirants, Chief Amos Gizo; the former chairman of Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS), Dashe Arlat; and others whom he said he wouldn’t like to mention yet.
