APC condemns arson attack on Rivers state House of Assembly, accuses Wike of ‘third term agenda’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers has strongly criticized the destruction of public assets at the state House of Assembly complex yesterday.

Darlington Nwauju, the party’s spokesperson in the state, condemned the incident, stating that the attack on the Assembly chamber was a severe violation of the sanctity of the legislature.

Nwauju said in a statement: “Last night’s arson attack on the hallowed chambers of the state Assembly amounts to the desecration of the legislature.”

Expressing concerns over the state’s security, the opposition party cautioned political figures against endangering the fragile peace due to personal political ambitions.

Nwauju emphasized, “We had warned Rivers people of the third term ambition of the immediate past Governor, Mr Nyesom Wike and the unpatriotic agenda to continue to emasculate the state and keep our people perpetually in poverty with the ‘consolidation of a convoluted economy powered by mercantile distribution of state resources.”

The APC’s statement not only condemned the act of vandalism but also alleged a “third term agenda” associated with the previous governor, accusing the continuation of policies detrimental to the state’s development and prosperity.
