APC Crisis: 11 Members Arraigned For Attacking Party’s Officials

It appears that the All Progressives Congress (APC) members are divided across all levels. While there is crisis at the national level, many states’ chapters are also battling major challenges.

At least, 11 members of the party in Kwara State were arraigned in Kwara Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The members were accused of attacking officials of the party at Shao town, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara.

According to the prosecutor, Zacheaus Folorunsho, the state executives were stoned by the defendants during a visit to their area.

Following the attack, some officials reportedly sustained injuries.

The accused: Adebayo Jimoh, Salman Amidu, Mahmud Afolabi, Olaofe Oladeji, Toyin Ayinla, Saka Mustapha, Abdulmumini Katibi, David Adebiyi, Salau Saka, Amori Rasaki and Saheed Suleiman were arraigned on a six-count charge of criminal conspiracy, force, assault, causing grevious hurt, inciting disturbance and mischief.

This is punishable under Sections 97, 266, 243, 114 and 327 of the Penal Code Law.

Meanwhile, all the defendants pleaded not guilty as they were bail on the discrection of the court.

Ibrahim Dasuki, the Magistrate granted the 11 accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety each in like sum.

He adjourned till April 22, for further mention.
