Danjuma Goje, the Senator representing Gombe State Central zone, has been expelled from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that this is according to an announcement made by Tanimu Abdullahi, the Chairman of the APC in Goje’s Kashere ward.
Abdullahi cited ten offences, including anti-party activities and Goje’s absence from the flag-off of the APC’s governorship campaign.
Abdullahi expressed disappointment that Goje, a former governor of the state, could not deliver his ward to the party during the recent governorship and Presidential polls, despite his popularity.
He suggested that if Goje had supported the party during the elections, his influence could have led to the party’s victory.
“For this, we the APC executives at the Kashere ward don’t see any need to keep him in the party, he is hereby expelled for anti-party activities,” Tanimu said.
The expulsion was approved by 31-member executives, including four state officials.
Goje has been at odds with the APC and some members of the senatorial zone for allegedly working against the party and supporting the opposition party’s governorship candidate during the recent poll.
