A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Uche Rochas has openly criticized the All Progressive Congress (APC) for their stance on peaceful protests.
He accused the ruling party of demonizing the same platform they used to gain power, calling APC members manipulators.
Rochas stated that the planned protest scheduled for August 1st has already failed.
This criticism comes amid heightened tensions and plans for a nationwide protest against the rising cost of living and economic hardships in Nigeria, set to take place from August 1 to 15.
The planned ’10 days of rage’ protest by Nigerian youths aims to address grievances over hunger and insecurity and is viewed by some as politically motivated.
His words: ”In our very own eyes, APC has demonized peaceful protests, the platform they used to snatch power. These guys are manipulators.
”However, those who are supposed to lead the peaceful protest are chilling waiting for 2027. The planned protest failed already.”
