Former national publicity secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Yekini Nabena, has warned of an imminent collapse of the party.
Nabena predicted that the APC might collapse as the leaders have failed to get it right as he shared his opinion on the battle of who will succeed Abdullahi Adamu as the party’s national chairman.
Nabena said the faulty foundation of the party was responsible for the infighting as he claimed the foundation of APC was totally wrong from inception and that is why there are still disagreements within the party.
He predicted that if the right things were not done in time, the party might collapse.
“They have to go back to the roots; there was no election, and what they had was a selection. Even the party members now don’t know the constitution of the party; they don’t have an idea of what the party is built on,” Nabena said.
“It’s like people are seated at home, and you just call them to come and take positions; they can’t get it right because they don’t know what the party is all about.”
The party chieftain maintained that all the issues would be over if the party returns to its root and allowed members to vote and choose the leaders they want.
