Deji Adeyanju, a former youth leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lambasted the party for not doing enough as opposition.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is holding its National Convention on Saturday, and the PDP has cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to attend, monitor or supervise the programme.
The PDP in a statement on Thursday forewarned that INEC would be going outside its statutory mandate under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) and the Electoral Act 2022 by attending or monitoring the APC National Convention.
The party further cautioned Nigerians who intend to participate in the electoral process under the APC to be guided, adding that these individuals are on a voyage that leads nowhere. But Adeyanju is furious with them.
“PDP will refuse to do real opposition work but now want INEC not to attend or monitor APC convention. They want an easy way to the villa. Clowns!” Adeyanju wrote on his verified Facebook page on Friday night.
