APC NWC revolts against Oshiomhole, says he is not qualified to lead

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the party chairman, Adams Oshimohole is no longer qualified to be its chairman.

The situation took another dimension on Tuesday when the NWC members showed their revolt against Oshiomhole, during their first meeting.

At the meeting, one of the NWC members, National Vice Chairman (North-East), Mustapha Salihu, insisted that he was no longer qualified to preside over the meeting of the party because Edo State chapter had legally suspended him.

Salihu stormed out of the venue from the meeting and addressed journalists, saying the reason for the recent crisis was the unilateral endorsement of Waziri Bulama as the party’s national secretary.

The APC chieftain also threatened to drag the former Edo governor to the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agents should he continue to preside over any meeting without vacating the order legally suspending him from the party.

While also blaming all the problems confronting the ruling party on the high handedness of Oshiomhole, he claimed that he has been presiding over the party affairs using President Muhamadu Buhari’s name to ensure decisions went his in favour.

The party is yet to reveal its position on the recent development.
