The All Progressives Congress (APC) has promised not to deny or shortchange the South East in political appointments despite the party’s poor performance across the region’s five states in the 2023 general elections.
Politics Nigeria reports that APC says it would be fair to distribute political positions.
This was disclosed by APC National Vice Chairman (South East), Mr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, during the official opening of the new APC State Secretariat in Enugu.
Responding to an inquiry on the exclusion of Igbos in the recent appointments by President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Vice Chairman said that many Igbos would still be appointed into strategic positions.
He consequently appealed to Igbos to support Tinubu’s administration, stressing that the President would protect their interests.
Tinubu scored the lowest number of votes in the South East during the 2023 general elections.
