Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State was reported to have been fired by a new faction in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The faction was allegedly replacing Mala Buni who became the chairman, APC Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), with Mustapha Audu.
The faction which is known as the Progressive Youth Movement also attacked President Muhammadu Buhari for the bad supervision of the party.
After replacing Buni, Audu announced the immediate Constitution of a National Reconciliation Committee to reconcile all those members who were harmed before the party’s convention.
In his statement, he also explained the New Zoning Formula for the position at the new National Working Committee (NWC).
“This Caretaker Committee has sacked the Buni-led caretaker committee and (it) stands dissolved, disbanded and no longer represent the APC members. As the new committee, we will take up the monumental task of reconciliation,” the group said.
As reported by Najwa News, The APC will hold its convention on February 26, 2022. Regarding the formation of the new faction, John Akpan Udoedehe, the APC National Secretary, claimed that the party did not recognize the group.
The secretary also explained that the Progressive Youth Movement structure does not exist or is recognized as a registered support group.
“However laughable, the criminal attempt of the purported group to usurp the leadership of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC now bothers on treasonable felony,” Udoedehe said.
“Relevant security bodies must now check and address their unscrupulous activities. The attention the purported group seeks will not be given to them by the party,”
it’s Paramount for the APC if they have any chance of winning come 2023.all grieve faction must be United to become a friend force to reckon with
