2023: APC vice-chairman reveals edge Tinubu has over Atiku, Peter Obi, Kwankwaso

The National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has said Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling party for the 2023 election, has the advantage of not being “a regular election merchant” over his opponents.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, is up against the likes of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

While Lukman admits these are colossal political figures, he expressed his optimism about Tinubu’s chances at the upcoming poll.

“No doubt, Atiku, Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi are respected people in politics. I will not toe them.

“But, in terms of edge and in terms of campaign, the advantage our candidate has is that he’s not a regular election merchant,” Lukman told Punch.

“The last time he appeared on the ballot was during his re-election in 2003.

“Unlike the other candidates, he has never left the party for any other party, which for me means some higher level of integrity and trustworthiness.

“Now it is up to Nigerians to draw their own conclusion.”
