The All Progressive Congress (APC) has said that the public should not barrage President Muhammadu Buhari with blames for the issues currently faced by Nigeria.
The call was delivered by APC Jigawa State chapter Chairman Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel while appearing at the Media Engagement Forum organized by the state Correspondents’ Chapel.
He insisted that Nigerians should instead be thankful for having a president like him for “President Buhari has done a lot for the development of Nigeria and we are lucky to have him as president because if it is somebody else, only God knows the situation Nigerians would have been going through now”.
“People have forgotten so easily the security situation of the country during PDP era before the coming of APC,” said Mr Gumel.
“We all know what had happened then during Jonathan’s administration and what is happening now, at that time people are even afraid to come out from their houses because of the insecurity situation of the country.”
He went on to say that during the previous administration, inflation was so severe that people had to join “long queues” to purchase goods.
“They have forgotten the hardship and the days they used to spend in long queues just to buy petrol,” he continued. “We are in a democratic era, so in dealing with issues like these, you have to be extra careful.”
He concluded that the people of Nigeria were supposed to pray for the success of their leaders instead of blaming the country’s problems on them.
