APGA Will Defeat APC, PDP in Kogi – Gov Candidate Vows

Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Kogi state, Idoko Kingsley Ilonah, has expresses optimism that his party would defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the polls in November.

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Ilonah vowed that APGA would resist any attempt by the APC, PDP or any other political party to rig the election.

He noted that the APC and PDP are not a threat to his party’s chances of winning the election.

Ilonah stressed that APGA would monitor the activities of Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that the election was transparent and the electoral laws not violated.

“The APC and PDP are not a threat to us despite their long existence in the state. I am not desperate to be governor, but I am desperate for quality leadership in Kogi State. Power comes from God,” he said.

Ilonah urged Governor Yahaya Bello to take a stand against violence in the state adding that it would send a  strong signal to mischief makers.

“We won’t be intimidated; the election must be free, fair and credible. Governor Yahaya Bello should discourage violence in the state. I am not hungry but this is a sacrifice for me. No one has the monopoly of violence. But we should stop preaching violence in politics,” Ilonah added.
