The Court of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed the election victory of Hon. Daniel Asama Ago, the Labour Party’s representative for the Bassa/Jos North federal constituency in Plateau State.
The court gave the judgement on Friday.
The court ruling follows Asama Ago’s victory in the February 4, 2024, bye-election.
His opponents had challenged his victory at the tribunal, but the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal upheld his win, leading to an appeal of the court’s decision.

His words, “I dedicate this victory to God Almighty and the good people of Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, who have stood by me throughout this journey, I also commend the Judiciary for showing that it remains the hope of the common man.
“Essentially, I wish to thank His Excellency Barr Caleb Mutfwang the Executive Governor of Plateau State for his unwavering support and commitment to upholding true democratic values. I appreciate the Governor’s leadership and dedication to ensuring that the will of the people is respected.
