Armed bandits have launched a deadly attack on Gidan Zuma village, located in the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in the death of 10 individuals and the abduction of 12 residents.
According to a resident who spoke on condition of anonymity due to security concerns, the assailants descended on the village on Sunday night, unleashing gunfire indiscriminately.
He said the sudden assault caught the villagers off guard, prompting them to flee for safety.
Regrettably, ten people lost their lives during the attack, while the terrorists forcefully took away 12 others.
The source lamented that despite the community’s efforts to defend itself against bandit incursions, they could not repel the attackers this time.
“The bandits entered in the night and started shooting at people, residents scampered for safety because the attack was sudden.
“Our people have always been defending this village from bandits’ invasion. But we were caught off guard yesterday;10 of our people were killed,” he said.
