A gang of daredevil Armed robbers on Wednesday attacked a bullion van along the Akure/Owo Highway in Ondo State, shooting a police officer in the process.
According to the Public Relations Officer(PRO) of Ondo State Police Command, DSP Funmi Odunlami, the attack took place around the Emure-Ile junction close to the highway.
However, the robbers were unable to steal any funds as the bullion van was not carrying any cash when they struck, Odunlami added.
The injured policeman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated at the moment. A team of security agents were deployed to the area to maintain order and hunt down the armed Robbers
