Arsenal Legend Urges NFF to Pay Super Falcons’ Salary, Bonuses

Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay the backlog of salary and bonuses it owes players, coaches and staff of the Super Falcons.

It would be recall that Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum, has been at loggerheads with the NFF over various issues ranging from the team list for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, preparations and non-payment of salaries.

Waldrum also revealed that some players are owed per diem and bonuses from two years ago.

“Up until about three weeks ago, I had been owed 14 months’ salary, and then they paid seven months’ salary,” he said.

The 66-year-old also tasked the federation to give an account of the $960,000 FIFA paid the federation for the Falcons’ preparations for the World Cup, which kicks off in 12 days.

Reacting after Nigeria defeated co-hosts, Australia 3-2 at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup on Thursday, Wright urged NFF to do the needful.

On his Twitter handle, he wrote, “Pay them!!!!!! @thenff 🇳🇬“
