The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar met with a delegation of opposition lawmakers on Monday, including Kingsley Chinda, a close ally of former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that according to Atiku, the meeting focused on the state of the nation, and how their legislative agenda, as opposition parties can enhance the well-being of citizens.
Chinda, who is the Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, visited the former Vice President along with the Minority Whip, Hon. Dr. Ali Isah, and the Deputy Minority Whip, Hon. George Ozodinobi.
It is worth noting that Wike and Atiku have had a frosty relationship since Atiku emerged as the PDP’s presidential candidate in 2022.
Wike, who was a major contender for the PDP’s presidential nomination, felt that he was cheated out of the ticket by Atiku and his supporters.
Wike is one of President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nominees.
