Omoyele Sowore, the National Leader of the African Action Congress (AAC) and 2023 presidential aspirant, on Wednesday said he and his supporters are determined to “retire” politicians like Atiku Abubakar in 2023.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Atiku, a former Vice President, today officially declared his intention to contest presidential election in 2023 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku’s declaration comes just seven days to the two-week deadline given to the PDP zoning committee to make recommendations for the zoning of various elective positions before the elections.
This would be Atiku’s sixth shot at the Presidency having contested in 1993, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019.
“A message to @Atiku. We are set to retire all you tired, fake, incompetent, corrupt failed politicians in 2023!” Sowore wrote on his verified Facebook page.
The 2023 Nigerian presidential election will be held on 25 February 2023. Incumbent, All Progressives Congress (APC’s) President Muhammadu Buhari is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.
