A new scandal has erupted in Equatorial Guinea following the release of intimate footage involving the wife of Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the recently dismissed Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF).
The video, showing Mrs Engonga with another man, was shared online by outspoken social commentator Martins Ortse, known as “VeryDarkMan.”
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Ortse remarked, “Just when I thought it was all over about this Equatorial Guinea man, the whole thing is getting more interesting… If you see how another man was na*cking his wife.”
Ortse’s post and screenshots from the footage quickly gained traction and stirred intense social media discussion.
Engonga’s wife’s alleged affair comes on the heels of her husband’s own scandal, where he was discovered to possess over 400 explicit videos involving various women.
This revelation emerged amid an investigation into alleged fraud involving Engonga, ultimately leading to his dismissal and arrest.
Reacting to the scandal, Equatorial Guinea’s First Lady, Constancia Mangue Obiang, voiced her dismay during a meeting with Prime Minister Manuel Osa Nsue.
She stressed the need for governmental intervention, stating, “This scandal not only affects individuals but challenges the dignity of Equatoguinean women and highlights urgent issues around digital privacy.”
The First Lady’s statement underscored the growing concerns about privacy protections in the digital era, particularly for women.
