Bandits dressed in hijab attack police duty post in Katsina state, kill officer

Bandits dressed in hijab attacked a police duty post in Saki Jiki village, Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in the tragic loss of an officer’s life.

According to reports, another police officer sustained injuries in the incident.

The Katsina State Police Command’s spokesman, Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the attack to journalists on Friday.

He said the incident occurred around 8 pm on Thursday, with the bandits employing deceptive tactics by dressing in hijab.

According to the police statement, the officers at the duty post responded bravely and successfully repelled the attack.

However, one officer lost his life, and another was injured in the process.

The police assured the public that they were actively addressing the situation at the duty post.

This incident adds to the recent wave of bandit attacks in Katsina State, with Batsari Local Government Area experiencing multiple attacks in the past week.

The bandits have also targeted other communities, including Kukar Babangida village in Jibia Local Government Area, where they killed nine residents, including the village head.
