The Abuja-based juju band members, previously abducted along the Lokoja highway, have been liberated from captivity.
The band, led by Omoba de Jumbo Beats, and crew were abducted while returning from a performance in Kogi State.
Reports emerged earlier this week detailing the kidnappers’ demand for an exorbitant N10 million ransom per member for their release.
However, a recent update has brought relief and celebration. Christian singer Adegbodu Taiwo shared a video showing the jubilant band members stepping out of a white bus, marking their safe return to Abuja.
Taiwo attributed the fortunate outcome to divine intervention and expressed gratitude for their regained freedom.
He wrote: “To God alone be the glory, Omoba de Jumbo beats and his crew are back to Abuja safely. No more sorrow, IJN @omobadejumbobeats.”
Specifics surrounding the ransom payment or the circumstances leading to their release were not immediately disclosed.
