Bandits on Saturday night attacked Kurami-Funtua in Katsina state and abducted the wife of a member of state House of Assembly, Dr Ibrahim Kurami. This is according to former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that gunmen had kidnapped three people, including the elder brother of the Secretary to the Katsina State Government (SSG), in two separate incidents on Wednesday and Friday.
Alhaji Kabir Muhammed, the brother of the Katsina SSG, Alhaji Mustapha Muhammed, was abducted by gunmen on Wednesday while he was working on his farm in Daftau Village, Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.
Neighbours noticed the victim, said to be “between 78 and 80 years of age” and of fragile health, was missing after he failed to participate in the seven early morning Muslim prayers.
He was consequently traced to his farm by his mosque and family members who discovered he had been abducted. Now, another abduction of a prominent personality has taken place.
Northwest geopolitical zone, and indeed majority of the northern axis are currently the hotbed of banditry in Nigeria. And Sani feels it is time for President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene.
“While the elder brother of the Katsina state Secretary to the Government is still in the hands of Bandits, the terrorists have struck again this night and kidnapped the wife of a member of state House of Assembly Dr Ibrahim Kurami. Its time for the President to save Katsina state,” Sani wrote via his verified Twitter handle on Saturday night.
