A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, on Tuesday, criticised banks for rejecting the old naira notes despite the Supreme Court order extending the deadline till Wednesday when an action would most likely be taken.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that some commercial banks refused to accept the old N200, N500 and N1000 notes from customers and Point-of-Service (POS) agents.
POS operators and other bank customers whose old naira notes were rejected, panicked as adamant bank officials said they were acting on the instruction of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Fuel stations also reportedly rejected the old Naira notes.
Disobeying a Supreme Court order is a contempt on Justice and a clear pathway to anarchy! Any institution that disobeys the order of the court of law is simply a jungle that must be called to ORDER!
