Barely 24 hours later, another truck crashes on Abuja Road [VIDEO]

In less than 24 hours after a tanker heavily laden with Compressed Natural Gas collapsed on the Abuja-Keffi Expressway, another truck has fallen on the same road – near the Karu Bridge.

Politics Nigeria gathered that the vehicle, a fertiliser-laden truck lost its balance and fell on the same spot where 10 people were killed in an accident that led to an explosion the previous day.

According to eyewitnesses, the fertiliser-laden truck collapsed near the popular Karu Bridge at about 3,54 pm in the afternoon of Thursday, March 20.

Confirming the incident, Nkechi Isa, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Management Department said the truck collided with a Hijet and dump truck.

Adding that no life was lost, Isa, in a statement cautioned motorists to adhere to road traffic rules and speed limits when using the roads.

She also stated that the agency is working with the Federal Road Safety Corps to tow the affected vehicle and ease up any gridlock on the road.

“Another accident has occurred under Karu bridge along the Abuja Keffi expressway. Thankfully no life was lost to the incident. Our Search and rescue say the accident occurred when a truck laden with fertilizer ran into a Hijet and a dump truck also known as tipper.

“Motorists are advised to drive with caution as the Federal Road Safety Corps is taking steps to tow away the affected vehicles in order to avoid traffic built up,” Isa said.
