The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Bauchi State, Ahmad Jalam, tragically lost his life in a road crash on Saturday.
The accident occurred on the busy Misau-Darazo highway.
Governor Bala Mohammed announced the sad news in a condolence message issued early Sunday.
He described the late commissioner as a dedicated public servant committed to the development and well-being of his local communities.
His words: “During his lifetime, he championed numerous initiatives aimed at improving good governance and community relations.
“Late Ahmed Jalam was known for his tireless work, integrity, and compassion for the people he served, and his service will be remembered and cherished by all. His demise is deeply felt by all and the countless individuals whose lives he touched during his lifetime.”
Governor Mohammed extended his deepest condolences to the commissioner’s family and the people of Bauchi. He prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive Jalam’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
The late commissioner, who is survived by his wives and many children, will be buried on Sunday in his hometown in Dambam LGA according to Islamic rites.
