Ahead of the November 11th Bayelsa gubernatorial election, the PDP New Generation in the state has unveiled a Youth Campaign Council.
The campaign council consists of 106 youths, with over 10 young men and women selected from each of the state local government to form a formidable team.
In a statement released by the Director, Media and Strategy of the group, Dare Akinnyi; he said the Youth Campaign Council is an initiative and tradition of the PDP New Generation.
The statement read:
“In 2022, we constituted youth campaign councils for Ekiti and Osun state guber elections, during the 2023 general election, we also had a National Youth Campaign Council that worked across the country for all PDP Candidates. We just released Bayelsa today, campaign councils for Kogi and Imo state will also be released in the coming days.
“The Bayelsa State Governorship Youth Campaign Council, has two Patrons; the PDP National Youth Leader, Prince Muhammed Kadade Sulieman, MON, and Chief Shimite Bello (SA to Delta State Governor).
“The Campaign will be Chaired by a grassroot mobilizer, Rev. Dr Enaikato Robert Azibedia, while Onimiya Johnathan will serve as the campaign secretary.
“To ensure that the campaign council focus on grassroot mobilization and activities, 10 young men and women from each of the state local government, was selected to make up a total of 106 formidable team.
“The mandate of the campaign council approved by the DG, Audu Mahmood, is to deliver the PDP Governorship Candidate, His Excellency, Sen Diri Douye, in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, schedule for November 11, 2023.
“Governor Diri, as a first term governor has brought development to Bayelsa state and his government has recorded numerous achievements. The PDP New Generation will ensure that we take his message of hope to all corner of the state and see to it that he is re-elected as the next governor of Bayelsa state. He said.
“The organization will continue to focus on its mission of promoting, maintaining and preserving the integrity, honor and dignity of the People’s Democratic Party.”
