The president of the Middle Belt Forum, Bitrus Poju has alleged that all the security agencies across the country knew about the Yelewata attack before it happened.
Poju in an interview with Arise Television said the attack by the suspected armed herdsmen on the residents of Yelewata in Gumu Local Government Area of Benue State could have been averted.
According to Poku, he received a security alert about the attack earlier and was sure that the security agencies also received such an alert.
His words, “I received a security alert on the 27th of last month from someone, warning that the Fulani were planning to attack Yelwata.
“I still have it on my phone. That means, if it got to me, it would have reached the security apparatus of this country before the attack,” Poju said.
Also stating that security agencies and their leaders are nonchalant about the happenings across some parts of the country, Poju called for a more strategic effort towards curbing attacks and killings in Benue and other states of Nigeria.
“Unfortunately, when you see a government that deliberately Mr President, irrespective of my appreciation of his visit to Benue whether it achieves some objectives or not, at least it’s better than that of the former president. He appointed the NSA, a Fulani man; the Chief of Defence Staff, a Fulani man; the Minister of Defence, a Fulani; and the Minister of State for Defence, a Fulani. Now when such information reaches these high offices, do you think it would go beyond that? It will not.
“Whether it is an allegation, a security report, if an ordinary citizen like me can have it forwarded to my phone from somebody, then the security apparatus would have had it, the DSS would have investigated it, the DIA would have investigated it and they would have confirmed it,” Poju added.
My name is Cletus Nwagu, and i don’t need any coverage. If speaking out the obvious naked truth is an offense in this dark and dane country called Nigeria i have no apology to whoever thinks is the creator and owner of this country. God Almighty through His infinite mercies is watching the high and so called mighty self rulers of this country. Even God Almighty spoke before our mother land came into existence that His ways are the TRUTH and LIFE. The Truth will live forever after we have all died to give account of how we spent our lives here on Earth. My truth is that whosoever that’s directly or indirectly involved in the mindless killings of human beings in Benue State will never, never go unpunished. This is the sovereign Lord God Almighty way of justice. Not Nigeria’s way of justice. Don’t hide my identity. Make it known. Let all the so called leaders know that whatever they successfully hide here on Earth will not succeed with the God of justice. Be you anything in this entire world one day you will surely die and face God’s justice and not the earthly supreme court justices you can influence with your wealth. God does not need your money because you die and perish with it.
He who has let him/her hear.
This is a foolish talk if it is real, you got an alert and you are passing blames on the expense of people’s life, you as an individual what did you do on the view of you been a leader. Sir you have failed your people.
We all know the standard of policing in nigeria so certain things do get to our heart because we know, let us assume your family reside there won’t you take that alert so seriously telling everyone in the locality to protect themselves, you now have the mind to come out and point fingers after you as a leader has failed.
Typical Nigeria politician people like you blame, but never stay accountable for your wrongs.
Information is said to be Power for a reason.
That’s the situation in Nigeria sir. They know the game plan and their planner’s God help us.
You should have made it known to them publicly just like you are doing it now. You don’t gamble with peoples life. Stop assuming and clear the air, security is everybody’s business. Report any suspicious leaks and save lives.
Benue sons should call for arrert and proscuttion of all the security leaders in Benue state
