Chief Bright Igodo Ogaji, a former senatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on his supporters to register with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing it as the “new vehicle” to take Nigerians to the promised land.
Ogaji, who issued the call from the United States in a personally signed statement, congratulated former Senate President, David Mark, on his emergence as the Interim National Chairman of the ADC.
He also hailed the inauguration of the party’s leadership in Benue State, calling it a “new dawn” for the state and the country.
“The new face of ADC—Senator David Mark—is a game-changer that has come through a storm to rescue Nigeria from the shackles of oppression and underdevelopment,” Ogaji said.
The ADC was officially launched last week in Abuja by a coalition of opposition leaders and defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, was named Interim National Secretary.
The Benue State chapter of the party was launched on Wednesday, taking over the former PDP secretariat in Makurdi.
Former Speaker pro tempore of the House of Representatives, Hon. Terngu Tsegba, and Hon. Samson Okwu were announced as Interim Chairman and Secretary.
Ogaji, a former Chairman of Oju Local Government Council, praised the Benue leadership of the ADC and urged his followers to throw their weight behind the new party.
“I urge all my supporters, home and abroad, to queue behind these great leaders of our land to make the new party work for the people of Benue and Nigeria,” he said.
He also extended congratulations to key political figures who have aligned with the ADC, including Senator Gabriel Suswam, Mr. Benson Abounu, Sir John Ngbede, and Prof. Tivlumun Nyitse, among others.
Ogaji said the ADC represents a fresh start for Nigerians who are tired of recycled failures, adding that the party’s emergence signals a renewed hope for inclusive development and national pride.
