Officials of the British High Commission are set to meet with the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.
This was revealed by Nnamdi Kanu’s special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor. He disclosed that arrangements are being made to ensure that Kanu can be visited by his family members and well wishers.
He affirmed that Kanu’s legal team was able to meet with him on Tuesday. It can be recalled that after the meeting, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s lawyer, in a statement issued to the press, revealed that the secessionist leader was in good spirits.
“He is firm and stable, less the burden of solitary confinement and concomitant mental torture arising therefrom. Though the detaining authority is giving him medical attention, he still requires advanced medical care, which formed substantial part of the relief in our application before the Court.”, Ejiofor said.
However, Ejimakor confirmed that British Commission Officials were willing to meet with Kanu.
“About the British High Commission officials, I spoke with them too. They request to see him too after the Monday experience.”
“So, all of these things we’re working on, and hopefully, we will get them. They are desirous to see him. It was mentioned during my talk with the Consular some moments ago,” he said.
He also added that some Igbo leaders have also indicated interest in visiting Kanu.
