Bode George Makes U-Turn, Hints on Working With Tinubu

In a twist of events, the former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, says he will work with President Bola Tinubu for the good of the country.

Politics Nigeria recalls that George has been Tinubu’s political adversary for decades.

The PDP chieftain promised to embark on self-exile if Tinubu wins the 2023 presidential election.

But reacting to questions from journalists on Thursday, George said he had no personal issues with the president.

His words: “I have said, there is nothing personal. Look, I trained in the military. You know in the military whoever is in the trench next to you is your brother. When you go out to say what is our mission in the military? It is to defend our country. If he comes and says look, what do you feel about this, what do you feel about that, let’s work together in the interest of this country, why would I refuse? This nation also trained me.

‘’The military trained me. There is no part of the world that I have not been, training and doing exercises. This country trained us. So, we must be able to put something back to the system that would also positively impact on the younger ones, to put a smile on their faces.’’

Meanwhile, President Tinubu has extended an olive branch to the opposition parties for the purpose of nation building.

  1. Haba Bode George, you said you’ll japa if BAT is made President. This volte face is completely preposterous and quite uncharacteristic of who people have mistaken you for. We thought you are a principled man interested in justice and true reconciliation of our nation like OBJ. Why eat the Humble pie so shamelessly?
